To celebrate the International Year of Chemistry, the Union of Chemical Industries (UIC), organized exhibitions that took place from 27 to 31 January, simultaneously in Paris, Lyon, Lille and Marseille. Artists are illustrating four themes that are at the heart of our daily concerns and are affecting the future of our planet.
Four events in four large French towns, giving internationally renowned artists the chance to express through their work several aspects of chemistry’s contribution to sustainable development and to solving the major challenges for our planet. The goal was to initiate a dialogue with the general public and chemical industries.
- Paris – Rosae Plasticae (plastics recycling)
- Lille - Chemistry Mechanical Field (plants or how manufacturers are developing biomass-based materials)
- Lyon - Sp’air (helium balloons highlighting air quality)
- Marseille – Helioflore (flower whose petals are made of photovoltaic panels)
