g/kg
Grams per kilogram. An expression of dosage used in toxicology testing, to indicate the grams of substance dosed per kilogram of animal body weight.
gametes
A collective term used to describe both male and female germ cells, the sperm and ova.
gas
See gasoline.
gasoil
An intermediate distillate product used for diesel fuel, heating fuel and sometimes as feedstock.
gasoline
Also called gas or petrol, gasoline is a mixture of volatile, flammable liquid hydrocarbons derived from petroleum, with or without small quantities of additives, and used as motor fuel. It is also used as a solvent for oils and fats.

GCP

GDP
Gross Domestic Product.
GE

gelatin
Substance in gel form obtained by denaturing animal skin and bone collagen subjected to the prolonged action of boiling water. Gelatin has a wide range of applications in the food, the pharmaceutical and the photographic industries. It is also used in cosmetics, in the refining of metals, in the polymerisation of plastics and the sizing of paper.
General System of Preferences (GSP)
A system of tariff preferences designed to encourage the expansion of manufactured and semi-manufactured exports from developing countries. It is part of the tariff structures of numerous developed countries. The program covers a broad spectrum of agricultural, manufactured, and semimanufactured products, but stipulates that certain products may not be designated GSP eligible due to the import sensitivity of domestic industries.
