Chemicals is the second leading manufacturing sector (after pharmaceuticals) in terms of “added value per employee” in Europe, followed by the “office machinery and computers”, “radio, television and communication”, basic metals”, “automotives” and “pulp and paper” sectors. The chemical industry’s added value per employee is almost twice as high as the manufacturing average.
