Germany is still the largest chemicals producer in Europe, followed by France, Italy and the UK. Together, those four countries generate almost two thirds of the EU’s chemicals sales (€296 billion). Adding Netherlands, Spain, Belgium and Ireland raises the share to 89% (€422 billion). Poland is the biggest new EU country, representing almost 2% of total EU chemicals sales.
