Employees with medium and high education account for around 80% of workers in the chemical industry. While the percentage of people with lower and medium education has been decreasing since 2001, workers with high level of education are gaining importance, accounting for almost 27% in 2005. The success of the European chemical industry depends on its well trained employees. The skills and education are an important factor in international competitiveness and the European chemical industry is facing a global challenge for talents.
