About Us

Our Organization

Cefic's policy is determined by the General Assembly of Members, its Board and its Executive Committee. Their decisions are implemented by a Director General and staff whose offices are in Brussels.

The General Assembly is composed of all Cefic Members – companies and national associations. It meets once a year and elects the governing Cefic Board and Executive Committee.

An essential link between Cefic governance and operational levels, the Programme Councils define priorities and policies, working structures and advocacy plans.

The operational management of Cefic is ensured by the National Associations Board (NAB) , the Industry Sectors Board (ISB) and the Leadership Team , which assists the Director General and has overall responsibility for coordinating and steering the organisation’s activities.

The European Policy Centre comprises six programmes, backed up by the two corporate Communications and Advocacy functions:

The Services Unit addresses both in-house support services and member services:
  • Business Development & Procurement
  • Support services
There are four Industry Sectors :
  • Fine, Specialty and Consumer Chemicals (FSCC)

  • Petrochemistry

  • Halogens/Euro Chlor

  • PlasticsEurope
