    Cefic examined the Final Report of the Review of the European List of Waste by �kopol, dating from November 2008. The European chemical industry is largely committed to the use of the European List of Waste (LoW) as specified in the Commission Decision 2000/532/EC.

    The European Chemical Industry, represented by CEFIC, and the European Chlor-Alkali Industry, represented by Euro Chlor, strongly support the development of an internationally binding Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs), currently being negotiated under the auspices of UNEP1. Support for the POPs Convention is in line with the Chemical Industry’s commitment to "Responsible Care", and in keeping with its mission to develop and maintain a European chemical industry which is environmentally, economically and socially sustainable.
