GPS Guidance on Chemical Risk Assessment

This guidance has been developed to :support the Global Product Strategy (GPS) on the safe management of chemicals.

It is designed for developing regions and SMEs and provides step-by-step guidance to help companies with limited experience and resources to master the basic principles of risk assessment and risk management.

It helps companies getting closer towards implementing complex international standards, reducing the differences in the safe handling of chemicals substances between developing, emerging and industrialized countries.

GPS Chemical Information Portal

The ICCA's GPS portal for chemicals safety information provides public access to safety and health information on chemical substances. ICCA members are committed to provide informaton on all chemicals in commerce by 2018.

The portal provides access to the chemical safety summaries provided on company websites which are designed to improve the safe handling and use of chemicals throughout the value chain.

The portal is the central, easy-to-use point of access for all information available.

Cefic Guidances to Implement the Global Product Strategy (GPS)

Cefic's collection of REACH guidelines includes specific guidance documents supporting the implementation of GPS (search for GPS!).

A GPS Safety Summary template helping companies identify where to find information in the REACH registration dossier to use as basis for the GPS safety summary.
