In order to help chemical companies and other actors in the supply chains comply with chemical regulations such as REACH, a number of guidance documents and tools have been developed to support the implementation of legislations and to enhance the harmonisation of procedures.

Implementing REACH

The Cefic collection of REACH guidelines includes around 60 guidance documents and tools to support companies in the implementation of REACH as well as to enhance harmonisation. Having a harmonised approach, and using standard tools, are key for a successful and efficient implementation of REACH requirements.

Specific libraries provide information to comply with REACH, in particular to develop exposure scenarios.

Many REACH processes are supported by IT tools which Cefic explains on the website.

LRI Toolbox for Risk Assessment

The Long-range Research Initiative (LRI) has developed through its research numerous quality-assured databases and key tools to provide regulatory agencies, industry and academia with state-of-the-art and easy-to-use tools for better research, analysis and visualisation purposes for use in risk assessment and toxicity testing of chemicals, and in preparation of regulatory filings such as REACH, GHS.
