The European Agency for Health & Safety at Work (EU-OSHA) provides materials to support its Safe Maintenance campaign. Maintenance is essential to keep the working environment safe & healthy; on the other hand, it is a high-risk activity that has to be performed in a safe way. The website provides a number of topical publications such as leaflets, fact sheets, presentations, awareness videos and reports. 



EU-OSHA Materials for Risk Assessment in Workplaces

The European Agency for Health & Safety at Work (EU-OSHA) provides materials to support occupational risk assessment in companies (posters, leaflets, etc.) tailored for SMEs. The website provides a number of topical publications such as information on exposure to vibration, skin diseases and dermal exposure, the prevention of work-related musculoskeletal disorders a. o. (not specifically tailored for chemical industry).



Risk Management Toolkit for SMEs (VTT Finland a. o.)

The toolkit provides practical tools and easy-to-read information for the development of risk management in SMEs.

  • 'Instruction books' provide background material for the topic in question.
  • 'Work books' allows for in-depth examination of risks. Info cards summarize specific areas of risk management. Issues covered include vulnerability analysis, personnel & environmental risks a. o.

 The tool kit has been developped by VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland in cooperation with IOSH (UK) and EU-OSHA (not specifically tailored for chemical industry).



Five Steps to Risk Assessment Leaflet (UK)

The leaflet developed by the Health & Safety Executive (UK) is a short and simple guidance to risk assessment in the workplace. It helps companies assess conduct risk assessments and to comply with regulation indicating simple, cheap and effective measures to ensure that employees are protected (not specifically tailored for chemical industry).
