Dr. Uta Jensen‐Korte FECC Director General
Her educational background includes a Doctorate in Organic Chemistry at the University of Münster (Germany), and post‐graduate studies at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
- A chemist by training, Dr. Jensen‐Korte began her career at Bayer, where she first worked in the Research Department for Plant Protection Products.
- She was then Plant Manager for the production of fine and speciality chemicals, and finally, was responsible for the marketing and market development of pharmaceutical intermediates.
- Dr. Jensen‐Korte joined the European Chemical Industry Council (Cefic) in 1997, were she became Director in 2002. During this period she focused on issues related to European and international chemicals control legislation and more specifically on REACH.
- Before joining Fecc (November 2010), Dr. Jensen‐Korte worked since 2004 for the European Commission, where her main responsibility was to co‐ordinate and lead the implementation of the CLP Regulation (classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures), which is based on the GHS (Globally Harmonised System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals).
