Executive Committee Members
Werner Fuhrmann is a member of the Executive Committee of AkzoNobel, located in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. In his position, he is responsible for AkzoNobel’s Specialty Chemicals businesses. Mr. Fuhrmann is a member of the Board of Cefic and the ACC. He was the chairman of the Dutch association of the chemicals industry (VNCI) from 2010 until 2015.
After his graduation in Economics at the University of Mainz (Germany) Mr. Fuhrmann joined AkzoNobel. He began his career at AkzoNobel’s Fibers division with various positions in auditing, finance and control in Germany and the United States. In 1991 Mr. Fuhrmann was appointed Division Controller of the Akzo Salt and Basic Chemicals in Hengelo (The Netherlands) and shortly thereafter became the head of Finance & Control of the combined AkzoNobel Chemicals activities. In 2000 Mr. Fuhrmann was appointed General Manager of AkzoNobel's worldwide Chelates & Sulfur businesses and in 2005 he was promoted to General Manager of AkzoNobel’s Business Unit Industrial Chemicals.
In 2011 he joined the Executive Committee of AkzoNobel. As of 2013 he is responsible for the Specialty Chemicals business of AkzoNobel.
