Colette Alma-Zeestraten

Dr. ir. N.C.M. (Colette) Alma-Zeestraten was born on the 23rd of May 1953 in Voorburg (Netherlands). She studied Molecular Sciences at the Landbouwuniversiteit (Agricultural University) in Wageningen. In 1982 she conferred a doctor’s degree on Maths and Physics at the Katholieke Universiteit Nijmegen.

A great part of her career, Colette Alma worked for Shell. From 1981 onwards she
worked at the Royal Shell Laboratory in Amsterdam, Shell Chemicals Netherlands,
NAM, Shell Research and Technology Centre Amsterdam and Shell Netherlands,
where she worked in areas like R&D, Planning, Environmental management, Quality
management, Organisational development, Training and Public Affairs.
From 2000 until 2004 she was director of NIDO (National Initiative Sustainable
Development).

In September 2004 Colette Alma started as general manager at the VNCI (Association
of the Dutch Chemical Industry). She also represents the VNCI in several boards of
national and international associations and organisations in the field of the chemical
industry.
