The European petrochemicals industry represents a turnover of more than 74 billion Euro, not including the turnover of its customer industries. It is a major contributor to Europe's economic strength, and, together with the derived industries it feeds, such as the plastics industry, it represents an important sector of the European chemical industry.
Coordination and governance of the sector is conducted through the APPE Board, chaired by Huub Meessen (SABIC Europe), Pierre de Kettenis, Petrochemistry Programme Executive Director, is a member of Cefic Leadership Team.
