The Leadership Team

The role of the Leadership Team is to steer the organisation, develop strategic co-ordination and provide adequate resources to the programmes and the corporate services. It ensures that Cefic operates as a single entity in its corporate and business activities and services, working with national associations and industry sectors to deliver optimum results.

The Leadership Team is composed of the Director General and the Programmes and Industry Sectors Executive Directors.

	Hubert Mandery, Director General Hubert Mandery holds a degree in Organic Chemistry and a PHD from the Technical University of Karlsruhe. He started his career at BASF in research and became Head of BASF South Africa in 2007. Read the full profile

	Wilfried Haensel, Director General - Industry Sector Plastics/PlasticsEurope Prior to his appointment as the new lead of PlasticsEurope and its five regional offices, Dr Haensel worked for BASF during the last 22 years. Read the full profile
	Françoise Humbert, Executive Director - Communications From 1997 to 2005 she held various communications posts at Cefic, where, among other things, she developed and launched Appe's communications programme. Read the full profile
	Gernot Klotz, Executive Director - Research and Innovation Dr. Gernot Klotz studied Biology and Microbiology at the University of Aachen (Germany). After having worked for the US based pharmaceutical company Armour he joined Bayer. Read the full profile
	Jean Claude Lahaut, Secretary General - Legislation & Institutional Affairs Jean Claude Lahaut started his career in 1971 as Assistant in Commercial Law at the Université de Liège. 	Alistair Steel, Executive Director - Industry Sector Halogens / Euro Chlor and Fine, Specialty & Consumer Chemicals Prior to joining Euro Chlor in June 2006, Alistair Steel had over 18 years of service with Rhodia (former Rhône-Poulenc), the last five years as Managing Director and Country Manager of Rhodia UK Ltd. 	Peter Smith, Executive Director - Product Stewardship Peter joined Cefic on January 9, 2012. Peter holds a Ph.D in chemistry and has a broad working experience within Procter & Gamble.
